Event Details
AMI Arts Festival 2026 heads into its final evening with The Raghu Dixit Project and Hooligaanism live at KCC Backyard.
Led by Raghu Dixit, The Raghu Dixit Project draws from Kannada folk traditions and mystic poetry, carrying them into a contemporary sound that has travelled across the world. With more than 2,000 performances across five continents, the project has become known for concerts where music meets storytelling, humour and an easy connection with the audience.
Hooligaanism comes to the stage with an altogether different sound. The Bengali musical collective moves freely between folk, Jatra, rock, Indian percussion, poetry and slogans. Their original songs take on protest, love, friendship, solidarity and the contradictions of contemporary life, with words and wit firmly at their centre.
One brings Kannada folk and mystic poetry into contemporary independent music. The other turns Bengali folk, theatre, rock and poetry into something distinctly its own. Together, they make for a fitting final evening at the Backyard.
Led by independent musician Raghu Dixit, The Raghu Dixit Project draws extensively from the folk traditions and mystic poetry of Karnataka. Over more than two decades, the project has performed across India and internationally, taking music rooted in Kannada language and culture to audiences around the world.
Hooligaanism comprises Anirban, Subhadeep, Debraj, Krishanu, Someswar, Pritam Das, Pritam Deb Sarkar, Sushruta and Nilansuk. The nine-member collective brings together musicians from folk, classical, modern and experimental backgrounds, with voice, guitar, bass, violin, percussion, drums and wind instruments forming its cross-genre sound.
One last evening at the Backyard. Two bands. And a fitting way to see out AMI Arts Festival 2026.
