Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Dastaan-e-Mukesh, a musical-theatrical tribute to legendary playback singer Mukesh Chand Mathur, marking the 50th anniversary of his passing.
The production brings together biographical storytelling and live music to revisit the journey of a singer whose voice became closely associated with love, longing and emotional vulnerability in Hindi cinema.
Devanand Jha performs songs from Mukesh’s repertoire, while Nidhikant Pandey leads the narrative, placing the music within the singer’s life and wider contribution to Indian film music.
Presented by Three Arts Club 2.0, the production creates a bridge between cinematic memory and live performance, allowing audiences to return to familiar songs while encountering the story of the artist behind them.
Nidhikant Pandey is a media and theatre professional with over three decades of experience. He has been associated with Akashvani as a Hindi news reader, editor, announcer and drama artist, and has worked with Three Arts Club as an actor, writer and director.
Devanand Jha is an A-Grade artist of All India Radio, New Delhi, and a playback and devotional singer whose work spans film, folk, patriotic and devotional music. He is also a regular lead vocalist for Three Arts Club’s musical productions.
