Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Kahat Kabir by Anirudh Varma Collective, a musical exploration of the poetry of Kabir and the Nirgun mystics, as part of AMI Arts Festival 2026.
Centuries later, Kabir’s verses continue to raise questions about existence, identity and the search for truth. The Collective draws on Indian classical music and folk influences, bringing these words into contemporary arrangements and orchestration.
Through these musical interpretations, Kahat Kabir revisits poetry that has travelled across generations while retaining the spirit of the original verses. The performance offers a way of hearing Kabir anew and considering what his words continue to mean in the present.
