As part of AMI ARTS FESTIVAL at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity, discover the intricate craft of paper quilling in this immersive day-long workshop with Semantee Raha, founder of Simi's quilling. This meditative session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of paper quilling—from simple spirals and scrolls to complex, layered compositions.
Under Simi’s expert guidance, participants will learn to shape, assemble, and transform paper strips into elegant designs that reflect both precision and play. All materials will be provided, including a frame for the finished creations, making this a perfect opportunity to take home a piece of art made entirely by the participants.
This meditative, hands-on session highlights precision, emotional resonance, and the joy of slow-making. Whether one is looking to try something new, reconnect with one’s creative self, or spend a mindful day immersed in craft, this workshop offers a gentle, joyful entry into the world of quilling.
No prior experience necessary—just some curiosity and a steady hand.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Semantee Raha, affectionately known as Simi, is the founder of Simisquilling—a studio that celebrates the elegance of handmade quilled art. Each piece is individually hand-shaped and reflects Simi’s commitment to precision, emotion, and form. Her work spans jewellery, nameplates, wall décor, and framed compositions.
