The Story of Wetlands
Date: 9th - 10th December, 2025
Time: 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Venue: KCC, Fourth Floor, Studio Space
As part of AMI Arts Festival 2025, Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Visual Narratives: The Story of Wetlands, a hands-on workshop by Disappearing Dialogues.
The two-day workshop combines Bengal’s patua scroll-painting tradition with contemporary storytelling about Kolkata and the East Kolkata Wetlands (EKW). Participants will learn about narrative composition, panel segmentation, and the performative practice of scroll presentation, while engaging with ecological memory and community stories.
Drawing on Disappearing Dialogues’ sustained work in wetlands outreach, youth engagement, and art-led ecology, the programme situates the EKW as the city’s living commons and a site of circular ecologies. Each participant will design and paint their own scroll and share it within a storytelling circle.
