KCC is here with Swing, Slide, Step – a Jazz Movement Workshop – a dynamic session that celebrates the spirit and spontaneity of jazz dance.
Flowing from the cultural expressions of African-American communities, jazz dance is a form shaped by resistance, rhythm, and individuality. As a precursor to World Music Day, this hands-on workshop invites participants to reconnect with the expressive roots of jazz and explore movement that is both grounded and free.
Led by a movement artist versed in the language of jazz and contemporary dance, the session unfolds through guided improvisation, foundational phrases, and an exploration of rhythm and flow that speak to both body and soul.
Register now to experience the stories, styles, and syncopations that define the jazz tradition!
