Feel the spirit of Sufi mysticism come alive under the open sky as KCC presents Sufi Rang Rehmat-e-Nusrat ke Sang — a captivating Qawwali performance by the acclaimed ensemble Rehmat-e-Nusrat. 

Rooted in the powerful traditions of Sufiyana kalaams and qawwali, this young ensemble from the Kumaon hills channels the legendary energy of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Founded by Sarvjeet Tamta, the group blends devotion, poetry, and rhythm in a repertoire that includes classics by Nusrat Saab, verses by Amir Khusrau, Meera Bai, Kabir, Baba Bulleh Shah, and heartfelt original compositions. 

From the vibrant deserts of Rajasthan to the pine-scented mountains of Uttarakhand, their music transcends geography and speaks directly to the soul. Having performed at major platforms including Jaipur Literature Festival, Ziro Festival of Music, and Noor Festival (Dubai), Rehmat-e-Nusrat brings a fresh, electrifying voice to the Sufi soundscape.

ABOUT THE ARTIST 

Rehmat-e-Nusrat is a passionate collective of young, self-trained qawwals hailing from the Kumaon hills, who carry forward the spiritual and musical legacy of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Formed in 2014 by lead vocalist and harmonium maestro Sarvjeet Tamta, the ensemble has carved a unique space in India’s musical landscape by reviving the traditional qawwali format with youthful energy and deep devotion. Drawing from a vast repertoire that includes classic qawwalis, Sufi kalaams by Amir Khusrau, Kabir bhajans, Meera Bai’s poetry, and original compositions, their performances are marked by sincerity, soul, and sonic power. With roots in reverence and eyes set on experimentation, Rehmat-e-Nusrat has performed at prestigious platforms like Jaipur Literature Festival, Ziro Festival of Music, Surajkund Mela, and the Noor Festival in Dubai, transcending geographies and generations through their music.
