Try your hand at the fine craft of carving shola pith into beautiful designs, at our Shola workshop, a part of the Bengal Roots Stories pop-up show. Steeped in Bengal’s rich heritage, Shola art is a delicate, eco-friendly craft cherished for generations. Using the soft white core of the shola pith plant, artisans create intricate decorations that celebrate nature and tradition.
This workshop invites you to slow down, engage with an ancient craft, and learn directly from skilled traditional artisans. It is the perfect opportunity to connect with Bengal’s living traditions and support the artisans who practice this craft.
The workshop is open to beginners, all materials will be provided, and you can create your own keepsake and take it home.
