Calling all curious minds!  

Join us for a hands-on summer workshop designed for students and teachers to explore the exciting intersection of science and visual storytelling. Over three exciting days at KCC, learn how to critically engage with the role of images and short-form videos in conveying scientific ideas.  

Through guided sessions on framing, shooting, and editing, participants will learn to shoot and edit videos using their phones, develop narrative techniques for 90-second reels, and adapt real scientific demonstrations into engaging, bite-sized content. On the final day, participants will adapt live science demonstrations into compelling reels, combining creativity with scientific insight.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS 

  • Subha Das Mollick is an independent filmmaker, educator, and scholar based in Kolkata. A physics postgraduate and trained filmmaker, she has taught at institutions like St. Xavier’s College, iLEAD, and Aliah University. Known for her documentaries on heritage, identity, and everyday life, she merges arts and science through her work and pedagogy. 
  • Shubham Paul is a freelance photographer, cinematographer, and media educator with over a decade of teaching experience. He teaches filmmaking and photography at leading institutions across India and has received multiple awards, including from National Geographic. His work spans education, festivals, and promotional projects for renowned hospitality brands.
