About the Artistes:
Pt. Sajan Mishra is a renowned vocalist from the Banaras Gharana, one of the most respected schools of Indian classical music, particularly known for its khayal singing style. He commenced his tutelage at a very tender age from the virtuoso of Banaras Gharana – Pandit Bade Ramdasji, and then from the doyens of Banaras Gharana, his father and uncle, Pandit Hanuman Prasad Misra and Pandit Gopal Misra respectively.

Swaransh Mishra, Sajan Mishra's son and disciple, is a talented young vocalist who carries forward the legacy of the Banaras Gharana. When they perform together, it is a beautiful
blend of tradition and innovation. Their duets are characterized by intricate interplay of
ragas, melodic improvisations, and a deep understanding of rhythm and lyrics.
They have been honoured with the prestigious Padmabhushan Award, Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Tansen Award, Omkarnath Thakur Award, Kashi Gaurav, and Yash Bharti Award.
