This December, Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents a rare and exciting collaboration: Prithibi X Parash Pathar, as a part of AMI Arts Festival 2025. Parash Pathar returns after 18 years to share the stage with Kolkata’s beloved contemporary band, Prithibi.  

Together, these two iconic rock bands will revisit classics, reimagine timeless hits, and create a dynamic musical conversation that celebrates the spirit of Bengali rock. It’s a night where nostalgia meets fresh energy, and legendary sound meets contemporary style.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS 

Prithibi is a leading alternative Bangla rock band from Kolkata. Formed in 2001 by four college friends, they gained attention after their 2005 performance at Band-e-Mataram. Today, Prithibi is a five-piece band: 

  • Koushik Chakraborty (vocals) 
  • Deep Ghosh (bass) 
  • Debangshu Bhattacharjee (guitars) 
  • Deepayan Maitra (keyboards) 
  • Aniruddha Mondal (drums) 
They have released four studio albums, an EP, and several singles. Known for their poetic lyrics and energetic sound, they have performed across India, the UK, and the USA. 

Formed in the late 1980s, Parash Pathar is a pioneering Bangla rock band known for witty, socially aware lyrics and a music rooted in Bengali sensibilities. Their songs captured Kolkata’s changing urban pulse, blending satire, melody, and poetry. After an 18-year hiatus, the band returns to the stage, reigniting the spirit of Bangla rock.
