Open Calls of AMI Arts Festival 2024

FOOTPRINT FILM FESTIVAL by The Peninsula Studios is a non-competitive platform for teens and young adults to showcase their short films and engage in meaningful discourse on filmmaking. 

If you are between the ages of 13 - 24 years with a film of not more than 10 mins, shot or completed after 1st January 2023, hurry up and apply for FFF2024! 

Deadline: 1 November 2024 

The submissions will be screened by a jury of esteemed filmmakers, artists, and authors.

The selected films will be screened at AMI Arts Festival 2024 at KCC, Kolkata.

Karigari is a distinguished initiative by KCC that embodies an exquisite blend of handicrafts, traditional fine arts, and beautiful textiles, showcasing the golden elements of Indian craft culture. This unique art market is dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich and diverse folk arts and crafts of India, many of which are endangered and at risk of being forgotten.
It represents a significant effort to support and sustain these traditional art forms, providing a platform for artisans to display their talents and connect with a broader audience.

Karigari unites craftspeople from across India, each bringing their unique heritage and stories to the market, and features award-winning artisans who have been recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship at national and state levels. This diversity enriches the event and offers visitors a wide array of artistic expressions. We ensure that art and crafts are affordable for everyone, making it possible for attendees to own pieces of India’s rich artistic heritage without financial strain. 

Objectives:
  • Promote and Preserve: To protect and sustain India's endangered arts, crafts, and textile traditions. 
  • Showcase Diversity: To bring together artisans from various parts of India, representing a multitude of art forms under one roof.  
  • Affordable Art: To provide an accessible market where the general public can purchase high-quality, affordable art and craft items.  
  • Capacity Building: To organize workshops and educational sessions that enhance the skills of both artisans and participants.

Selected performances will be staged at the iconic Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata, offering artists a prestigious opportunity to shine at one of India’s leading arts festivals. MKIK 5.0

My Kolkata in Kolkata (MKIK) 5.0, part of the AMI Arts Festival (21 Nov – 22 Dec 2024), is an annual photographic exhibition celebrating the essence of Kolkata. Organized by Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) in collaboration with Chennai Photo Biennale, MKIK 5.0 invites photographers to showcase their work in two categories: single photo and photo story. Submissions for this edition are now closed. The exhibition will be held at KCC, highlighting outstanding photography that captures the spirit of this vibrant city.
