Moving Stillness - a VR Dance Experience
Join us for an immersive 10-minute virtual reality dance experience, ‘Moving Stillness’, presented by KCC in collaboration with Maya Dance Theatre and Avventura on 13 May, 6pm onwards.
Witness the effects of plastic pollution on our oceans as you become engulfed in a sea of debris through the stereoscopic 180-degree VR format. Co-choreographed by Rianto and Kavitha Krishnan, this Asian traditional dance practice focuses on structure, rigour, rhythmic cycles, intricate gestural language, and leg mandala positions to delicately negotiate the state of stillness through the moving body.
Get transported into these meditative realms and witness the Ocean Mother-Spirit of the Ocean, played by Rianto himself, glide, swirl, and traverse through space with meditative energy. Don't miss out on this surreal and engaging experience that will connect you with stillness and the beauty of dance.
