Fondly known as Shakubai, she is the winner of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 2008, along with several other prestigious awards. She has been a trailblazer in the field of Lavani for over 50 years and ran her own troupe for 35 years in places such as Pune, Mumbai, Beed, Parali, Solapur, and Belgaum.
