Mark Twain: Live in Bombay

Date: 22 March 2025
Time: 6:00 PM
Venue: KCC Amphitheatre

This March, KCC presents Mark Twain: Live in Bombay (English, 100 mins) – a delightful theatrical production by Rikh and Padatik Theatre, written by Gabriel Emanuel, and directed and enacted by Vinay Sharma.

In 1895 the celebrated American humourist Mark Twain was nearly broke. To recoup his losses Twain set sail around the globe and India was the highlight of his journey. Based on his writings and travels, the play attempts to recreate his historic lecture at Bombay's Novelty Theatre in 1896. Twain, a forerunner of modern standup comedy, shares tales and yarns from the Mississippi, skewers corrupt politicians, dishonest reporters, religious Bible thumpers and so-called patriots with his witty, satirical, relevant, consummate storytelling.
