Join us at KCC’s AMI Arts Festival 2024 for a pottery workshop – a therapeutic and enriching experience that allows individuals to connect with their creativity with the help of natural elements. Learn how ceramics have gradually become a part of our modern lifestyle and use it as a medium of art practice and the different techniques that are used in it.
Explore the diverse spectrum of possibilities and scopes for experiments with ceramic art – starting from home decor, artifacts, murals, sculptures, and ornaments to personalized utensils.

The calming and meditative practice of throwing pottery
What you’ll cover:
Clay wedging
Pottery throwing
Pinch technique
While 2 people throw the pottery, others will continue with the other techniques, and vice versa. Individual throwing time limit is only 10-15 minutes.
Trainer profile:
Saikat Chakraborty holds a BFA from Government College of Art and Craft and an MFA from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati. He has worked as a ceramic art teacher at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and R.K Sarda Vidya Mandir, a part time ceramic, drawing/painting and visual art teacher at Lakshmipat Singhaniya Academy, and has had experience as a Durga Puja assistant and maker at Dum Dum Park Tarun Sangha Puja Committee. He has been awarded the All-India Bronze Medal for Ceramics (2018) by Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, Mumbai; the Parci Brown Award (2016); the Sunil Das Cash Award (2015); and the Bimanesh Roy Choudhury Cash Award (2014) by GCAC, Kolkata.
