Bengal’s culinary heritage is a treasure trove of flavors, shaped by history, geography, and culture. Yet, over time, many traditional recipes – once an integral part of everyday meals and festive feasts – have faded into obscurity.  

KCC presents Lost Recipes of Bengal, a unique workshop that revives forgotten dishes and brings to life the diverse food traditions of undivided Bengal. Participants will explore the rich tapestry of Bengali cuisine, learning about the distinct culinary styles of Ghoti and Bangal, and the delicate balance of subtlety and spice that defines this tradition. Whether you're a food enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone who loves Bengali cuisine, this workshop promises an immersive and flavorful experience.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: 
A multi-talented personality, Rukma Dakshy has made a mark for herself in various fields. She was born in a family where her father was from Mymensingh and her mother from Dacca, Bangladesh; and she married into a family in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. She was thus influenced by the cuisine of both east and west Bengal by the virtue of her family background. Her flair for cooking has made her an eminent cooking columnist in innumerable magazines and newspapers. Her simple recipes have made her a household name in West Bengal and Bangladesh. She has authored several books from renowned publishing houses and appeared on tv shows. She regularly conducts online and offline classes on cookery. She was invited by Women's Culinary Association of Bangladesh to conduct workshops. She has been a judge for various cookery competitions, conducted by renowned FMCG companies. She has done brand promotions for innumerable companies of food products and groceries.
