This January, KCC presents LEGACY OF LEGENDS – a grand celebration of classical Indian music featuring two exceptional performances: a tabla solo by the renowned Pt. Ashis Sengupta, accompanied by Shri Dilip Kumar Biswas on the harmonium, followed by a soulful vocal performance by the esteemed Pt. Suman Ghosh, accompanied by Shri Indranil Mallick on the tabla and Shri Anirban Chakraborty on the harmonium. These distinguished artists will pay homage to the legacy of Pandit Jasraj and Pandit Mahapurush Mishra, showcasing the rich traditions of Indian classical music.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Suman Ghosh, based in Houston, has distinguished himself as a leading representative of Padma Vibhushan Pt Jasraj as a performer, educator, composer, and curator. His recent performances in major music festivals in India including Swar Samrat and at special venues including Rashtrapati Bhavan have projected him as a remarkable Cultural Ambassador of India in the global arena.
Ashis Sengupta is a leading representative of legendary tabla maestro Pt Mahapurush Mishra and is globally acknowledged as a major exponent of Benaras Gharana. Recently retired as a faculty member of Delhi University, he has performed all over the globe and excelled in teaching, composing and authoring texts on the tabla. He was recently honoured by the Prime Minister of India after a performance for visiting President of Maldives.
