Time: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Venue: KCC 4th Floor
OPEN TO ALL
As part of the AMI Arts Festival, Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Learn Togetherness V, a day-long exploration of queerness as a lens for dialogue, creativity, and community care. Through a series of interconnected sessions, the programme brings together voices from law, academia, mental health, activism, and design to reflect on how identities, rights, and lived experiences shape our shared social fabric.
The day begins with a panel discussion - Contours of Queer Politics: Voices, Visions, and Collaborations, featuring activist-lawyer Kaushik Gupta, academic Professor Zaid al Baset, women’s mental health counsellor and child-rights activist Soma Sinha, and transgender-rights advocate Aparna Banerjee, who collectively reflect on the shifting contours of queer politics in contemporary India.
In the afternoon, Threads of Self: Design, Identity, and Belonging with artist and designer Tanay Paul explores how clothing, form, and storytelling become markers of self and belonging. The day concludes with Rubaru: অনু সঙ্গে রত্নাবলি, a conversation between psychologists Dr. Anuttama Banerjee and Ratnaboli Ray, offering an intimate exchange on empathy, memory, and shared cultural worlds.
This edition foregrounds queerness as a political and ethical disposition, inviting audiences into conversations on care, community, and embodied knowledge.
