About the Artist 

Anjan Dutt is one of the most influential cultural figures in contemporary Bengal, with a career spanning music, cinema, theatre, and literature. Beginning his artistic journey in theatre, he went on to gain international recognition as an actor through his collaborations with legendary filmmaker Mrinal Sen, including Chalchitra and Kharij. 

As a singer-songwriter, Anjan Dutt transformed Bengali contemporary music in the 1990s with a distinct voice and style that resonated with urban audiences. His songs, marked by their conversational lyricism and deeply personal narratives, have become enduring classics. 

Alongside music, he has built an acclaimed career as a filmmaker, directing celebrated films such as The Bong Connection, Madly Bangalee, Ranjana Ami Aar Ashbona, and Dutta Vs Dutta. A recipient of multiple National Awards, he continues to work across film, theatre, and music, remaining one of Bengal's most distinctive and influential artistic voices.
