Join us for a special book reading and discussion featuring Dr. Madhurima Vidyarthi—endocrinologist and acclaimed author of Job Charnock & The Potter’s Boy

In conversation with Priyadarshinee Guha, Associate Vice President at KCC, the session will explore Dr. Vidyarthi’s unique approach to historical fiction, the layered identities of Kolkata’s colonial past, and her personal journey through writing and medicine. 

Guests will be treated to curated readings from her novels, followed by an insightful dialogue on history, fiction, and memory—set in the elegant ambience of Makaibari Tea Lounge. 
ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

Dr. Madhurima Vidyarthi is a Kolkata- and London-trained endocrinologist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK). A passionate writer across genres and formats, she has penned articles, educational scripts, and fiction for all ages.

Her latest book Job Charnock & The Potter’s Boy, published by Niyogi Books, marks her foray into adult historical fiction. She is also the author of three acclaimed titles for young readers like The School for Bad Girls, My Grandmother’s Masterpiece and Munni Monster and a contributor to the Indo-Italian anthology Bridge of Stories. Her work reflects a deep engagement with history, cultural memory, and the richness of Kolkata’s past.
