Hooliganism, a band born out of a passion for music and social change, makes its live debut at KCC’s AMI Arts Festival 2024, bringing their unique voice to the KCC Backyard. For the first time, this powerful musical collective will bring their message to the stage, blending themes of revolution, love, and friendship into an unforgettable experience.
Formed by Anirban Bhattacharya, Subhadeep Guha, Debraj Bhattacharya, Krishanu Ghosh, Sushruta Goswami, Nilansuk Datta, Pritam Das, Pritam Deb Sarkar, and Someswar Bhattacharya, this গান-wielding band will transform words and tunes into a collective voice of change, as a response to the world around us.
This event is an anthem for our times—an evening where art, activism, and community converge to inspire change.
About the Artistes:
Anirban Bhattacharya is an Indian actor, theatre actor, singer and director. His first successful theatre production was Debi Sarpamasta, written by Manoj Mitra, directed by Debesh Chattopadhyay. His other notable works are Anthony Soudamini, Nagamandala (famous play by Girish Karnad), Jara Agun Lagay, Bisorjan, FM Mahanagar, Karu Basana, Awdyo Shesh Rajani, Athoi etc. In 2017, he got the Mahindra Excellence Theatre Awards (META) as Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Awdyo Shesh Rajani. He made his directorial debut through the Bengali crime drama web series Mandaar, which is inspired by William Shakespeare's Macbeth. His second direction Ballavpurer Roopkotha was released on 21 October 2022.
Subhadeep Guha is a singer-songwriter, composer, musician, and music director associated with 2 musical groups – ArshiNagar Band & Hooliganism. For more than 15 years he is researching upon the use of Music along with its role and importance in penetrating the mind and brains of the spectators. The main focus of his work is how to heighten music to the level where it becomes a lead character itself and not only a background element. He received the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Purashkaar 2018 (Sangeet Natak Academy Award) by the Indian Government and the Sambhu Mitra Puraskar by I & C Govt. of West Bengal.
