Harmonious Hues: Violin Classes

Introducing a year-long series of instrumental classes on violin at KCC beginning this August 2024, under the guidance of violinist Pandit Pallab Bandyopadhyay, a B-High grade artist in classical instrumental music at All India Radio and Doordarshan and member of the violin faculty at Dover Lane Music Academy. 
Students will engage in enhancing their agility, coordination control, and timing by playing the violin, and learn how to express themselves creatively. An examination will be held at the end of the classes and a certificate will be provided upon completion. 

Fee: 1500 INR per month 
For 3 months: 4500 + 200 (admission fee) = 4700 INR

Trainer profile: Pt. Pallab Bandyopadhyay

Violinist Pt. Pallab Bandyopadhyay began musical training by learning the classical guitar under his father Shri Nihar Bandyopadhyay as a child, then the violin under Shri Bholanath Mukhopadhyay. Later, he learnt the violin under Padma Bhushan Pt. V.G Jog for almost 24 years until his demise. Pt. Bandyopadhyay holds an M.A. and a Special Honors in Instrumental Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.  

He has been performing at All India Radio, Kolkata and Doordarshan for the last 20 years as a B-High grade artist in classical instrumental music (violin). With 29 years of teaching experience in Hindustani classical music (violin) among the school children, he is the Founder teacher at The Heritage School, Kolkata, and has been working there for 23 years. He has also been a visiting teacher of violin at South Point School, Kolkata for 15 years. He is the former Head of the Department of Music at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh, India (1996-2000) and has been a member of the violin faculty at Dover Lane Music Academy, Kolkata since 2014.  

Pt. Bandyopadhyay has presented lectures, demonstrations, and workshops at numerous schools in India including Yadavindra Public School, Chandigarh, Himalayan Academy, Jalpaiguri, W.B., Doon School, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Sriram Academy, Gurgaon, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, W.B., among others; and outside India, including New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, USA, and King Ely's Junior School, UK. 

He was awarded the Ranadhir Roy Memorial Award and the “Ravisudha Sanman” Award by Mayor of Agartala, Tripura. As a musician, he has extensively toured USA, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, and Bangladesh.
