ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
Sucheta Ganguly, an A grade artist of All India Radio (Kolkata) both in Kheyal and Thumri Dadra Tappa, was initiated into the world of Hindustani music by her father, Bhajan Krishna Ganguly, at the age of seven. Subsequently, she also learnt from Sujit Ganguly of the Bishnupur gharana. She joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy in the year 2000 as a General Class student under the tutelage of ITC SRA Guru Pandit Arun Bhaduri. Sucheta's memorable performances include solo recitals at the ‘Guru-Shishya presentation’ (2006), ITC Sangeet Sammelans at Mumbai and Kanpur, a jugalbandi performance at the ‘Navonmesh Utsav’ (2008) and at the Chennai Festival in 2009 in India and at Sadhana in Bangladesh in 2010.
Dr Rageshri Das, a regular A grade artiste at All India Radio and Doordarshan, is one of the most talented singers of her generation. Born in a musical family, Rageshri started learning vocal music with her father Sri Purnendu Das and then went to study with Guru Pandit Mohan Lal Mishra (Benares Gharana). Her performances are well appreciated by music lovers and musicians. She is a successful singer of Khayal, Thumri, and Bhajan as well as Ghazals. Some of her significant achievements include the Pandit Girija Sankar Smriti Puraskar from Rabindra Bharti University in 2009, and gold medals from Rabindra Bharati University for B.A. and M.A. in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
Srijan Chatterjee is a talented exponent of Hindustani Classical Music and semi-classical vocal music who was born and brought up in the atmosphere of music and theatre. He was initiated into the world of Indian Classical Music at the tender age of seven when he started his formal training under the guidance of Smt. Bandana Chakraborty. Thereafter he received special advanced training in this genre from Pandit Arun Bhaduri and Pandit Channulal Mishra of Benares. Besides being a classical vocalist, Srijan is also an avid researcher and creative assistant, a research guide, music composer and a playback singer who has worked with many distinguished personalities in the field of dance, theatre and cinema and television.
