Kolkata Centre for Creativity proudly presents Gangs of Pencilpur, a collaborative school concert under this year’s AMI Arts Festival. Featuring students from Classes 6–11 across five leading Kolkata schools—Birla High School, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Sri Sri Academy, Sushila Birla Girls’ School, and The BSS School—the play is an allegory set in Pencilpur, where Red and Blue Pencils face off in conflict.
Through music, dialogue, and movement, the performance explores themes of empathy, resolution, and harmony, while also nurturing professional artistic direction, teamwork and inter-school collaboration.
Curated and professionally coordinated by KCC, this original musical play highlights AMI’s ethos of shared creativity and student-driven innovation, making it a unique and meaningful cultural event for schools, parents, and the wider community.
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
Gangs of Pencilpur is an original collaborative musical play set in the whimsical land of Pencilpur, where conflict brews between the Red Pencils and the Blue Pencils. Students from Classes 6–11 across Birla High School, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Sri Sri Academy, Sushila Birla Girls’ School, and The BSS School bring this allegory alive through music, movement, dialogue, and ensemble performance.
Curated and coordinated by KCC under AMI Arts Festival, this concert is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the transformative power of the arts, offering a shared stage for young voices to explore empathy, conflict, and coexistence.
