Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents a two-day observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, under the theme “Empowerment through Inclusion – Celebrating Abilities, Not Disabilities.”
Day 1 focuses on awareness and expression, beginning at the Mobile Therapy Bus with Dhaak, Shankha, and Uluddhoni, followed by a short film on inclusion and “Voices of Inclusion,” a special interface with parents, educators, therapists, and government bodies.
Day 2 celebrates diverse abilities through cultural performances, felicitation, mime, a NIEPID presentation, and screenings of the new theme song.
The event is open to all, with accessible seating, volunteer support, and participation designed for students, educators, caregivers, therapists, allies, and community members.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Established in 2009, The Hans Foundation (THF), is a Public Charitable Trust, that works towards Health and Wellbeing of marginalized and under-served groups. The Mobile Therapy Bus is a collaborative initiative of NIEPID (under DEPwD) and The Hans Foundation to deliver doorstep diagnostic, therapeutic, and skill-development services for children with disabilities in underserved communities. It deploys five fully equipped buses to reach families who face access barriers, focusing on early intervention and continuity of care.
