About the Judge:
Samir Aich, a graduate of the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata (1978), has been painting for nearly three decades. Initially a neo-realist, he gradually shifted towards semi-abstract figurative themes. While his primary medium is oil on canvas, Aich also works with acrylics and mixed media. Since the early 2000s, he has continually explored new artistic concepts, focusing on structural details in composition, without completely abandoning elements of realism. His sculptures and installations complement his painted work, extending his artistic expression.
