Once an inseparable part of Bengal’s domestic life, Chatai weaving bears stories of resourcefulness and the rhythm of hands working in harmony with nature. Crafted from Khejur pata (date palm leaves), these woven mats are a gesture of care, used for sleeping, sitting, and prayer. They are a quiet reminder of sustainable living and community spirit in Bengal.
