Creativity meets humour at KCC’s Caricature workshop!
This interactive session will teach you how to simplify forms, exaggerate features, and bring characters to life with expressive details. Through live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and personalized feedback by our expert facilitator, participants will explore different caricature styles, learn to distinguish between realistic portraits and caricatures, and gain insights into the professional applications of caricature art.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Rounak Patra is an accomplished cartoonist, artist, illustrator, and designer, with a gold medal in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University. He has previously worked as a cartoonist for a daily newspaper and has contributed as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist to renowned publications such as Nav Bharat Times, Times Group, India Today, and Radio Mirchi. Beyond publishing, he has collaborated on music album covers and video designs for rock bands like Fossils and Prithibi, and has participated in group painting exhibitions both nationally and internationally, with a solo exhibition at A.M Studio, Kolkata, in 2021. Patra is recognized for artistic excellence, and was awarded at the Kala Ghoda Cartoon Festival in Mumbai and also received a Certificate of Merit from the Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal, at the Annual Art Exhibition (2019). He conducted workshops on graphic novels and character design at CMR University, Bangalore (2020), and held academic positions as an Assistant Professor of Applied Arts at Sri Sri University and an art and craft teacher at The Assam Valley School. Currently, Patra is working as a freelance illustrator for Ei Samay and Outlook magazine while also serving as an art teacher at South Point High School.
