Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Bansuriwala, an evening of Hindustani classical music featuring Pandit Ronu Majumdar and Pandit Parimal Chakraborty.
Pandit Ronu Majumdar is among the leading exponents of the bansuri. A Padma Shri awardee, he is known for his distinctive approach that brings together elements of dhrupad gayaki and layakari. His work has contributed significantly to the wider reach of the Indian flute in contemporary music contexts.
He is joined by Pandit Parimal Chakraborty, a senior tabla artist and a disciple of Pandit Shankar Ghosh of the Farrukhabad gharana. A top-grade All India Radio artist, he is recognised for his clarity, precision, and depth of accompaniment.
Together, the artists present a concert that brings melody and rhythm into dialogue through a shared classical tradition.
