The concept of ‘Baithaki’ had originally germinated with the primary intent of creating and providing a platform where a student of music would present a performance before an audience of music enthusiasts. Having started out as a private event conceptualised by Guru Shri Anjan Majumdar that primarily hosted live vocal performances of his own disciples, Baithaki has grown bigger and reached larger audiences; and is now hosting performances of other artists besides the in-house disciples, including but not limited to experienced artists and instrumentalists. It is designed not only to train artists into being skilled performers, but it also aims to contribute towards the growth of the musical community at large, to ensure healthy exchange of knowledge and learning amongst music enthusiasts, and to promote respectful cultivation of the craft by present and future generations.
