An Odyssey

Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents An Odyssey, a conversation between acclaimed actor, theatre director and author Avijit Dutt and cultural entrepreneur and festival curator Malavika Banerjee. 

Centred on Dutt's latest novel, Odyssey of Love, the session explores a story set during the reign of Rajendra Chola, following the life of Keshavadutta and his enduring love for Purna. Through readings, conversation, and reflections on the writing process, the evening will delve into themes of love, history, longing, and human resilience. 

Bringing together literature, performance, and dialogue, the session offers audiences an opportunity to engage with storytelling across time, while gaining insight into the creative journey behind the book. 

About the Author 
Avijit Dutt is a noted actor, theatre director, and writer whose work spans stage, film, and digital platforms. Known for his distinctive presence across theatre and cinema, he has built a multifaceted career that has included teaching, advertising, innovation, and the arts. His literary work reflects a deep interest in history, human relationships, and storytelling. 

About the Moderator 
Malavika Banerjee is a cultural entrepreneur, festival curator, and Director of the Kolkata Literary Meet. A former journalist and the co-founder of Byloom, she has played a significant role in fostering conversations around literature, arts, culture, and craft through festivals and public programmes across India.
