An Evening with Chef Asma Khan and Doma Wang

Date: 19 August 2025
Time: 5:30 - 6:30 pm
Venue: KCC Amphitheatre

Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents an inspiring evening featuring two remarkable culinary voices: Asma Khan, founder of London’s acclaimed Darjeeling Express and celebrated for bringing Bengali home‑style cooking to the world stage, and Doma Wang, a trailblazing chef, restaurateur, and founder of The Blue Poppy. This conversation invites food lovers to taste the stories behind the plates — from migration and heritage to innovation and feminism in the kitchen.

Asma Khan’s journey from a pop-up supper club to being featured on Chef’s Table highlights the power of food to preserve cultural memory and empower women. In dialogue with her, Doma Wang brings her decades worth experience of the rich flavours of Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali cuisine. Together, they will reflect on the evolution of recipes, the challenges and joys of women-led kitchens, and how Kolkata’s flavours continue to inspire and unite across generations.
