RaagRang

Date: 23rd January 2024
Venue: KCC Amphitheatre

What does music look like? RaagRang explores this question in the context of North Indian classical music. In a great concert, the audience initially focuses on the musician who is playing or singing the raga. However, as the raga unfolds, the binaries disappear- the musician becomes the raga and the raga the artist. Finally, only the music remains.

As a visual artist and computer graphics professional, Dipankar Goswamy attempts to semantically express this musical process.
Dipankar's project features a series of traditional paintings, meticulously crafted to highlight the intimate connection between the musician and their music. These artworks, adorned with vibrant colors and calligraphic notations, enable the audience to absorb the true essence of the raga and its symbiotic relationship with the artist.

The event is open to all, but prior registration is mandatory:
