Come witness Bharatanatyam dancers Sayani Chakraborty and Deepali Salil embody this emotional and spiritual liberation with their work titled ‘Breath’. Originally a part of their larger project, a dance film titled Looking Within Looking Around, Breath is now re-envisioned for the stage with a live orchestra while incorporating various new dimensions of breath.

Presented by Kolkata Centre for Creativity in collaboration with Sparsh Studio, Infosys, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, this promises to be a transformative celebration of art, dance, and self-discovery.

Deepali Salil, the creative force behind Breath, holds a master's degree in performing arts (Bharatanatyam) from Nalanda, Mumbai, under the tutelage of Guru Kalashree Rama Vaidyanathan. A recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Ms Salil has showcased her talent at national and international platforms, including NCPA Mumbai, Konark Festival, and Erasing Borders. 

Her dance films, including Fly...Fly... Again, Looking Within, Looking Around, and Dhumavati, have garnered love and appreciation globally, being featured in prestigious film festivals in New York and Chicago. As the Bharatnatyam choreographer and trainer for the Bollywood feature film Mee Raqsam, she continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression. Her most recent production, Bha...Ra..Ta Natyam, premiered in Mumbai, adding to her impressive repertoire.
