জলের গল্প জলের গান | Stories and Songs on Water

Date: 20 September 2025, Saturday
Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Venue: Emami Art, Ground floor, Gallery 2
Recommended age: 11-15 years
Taking inspiration from Santanu Debnath’s pensive depiction of ponds, rivers, and reservoirs in his art, this workshop by Emami Art in collaboration with KCC will begin with a music-infused dramatic reading of an illustrated children’s book on waterbodies, and will then engage the participants in an art and storytelling activity inspired by those stories and Debnath’s artworks.
This workshop is a public-facing programme under Morphology of Water: A Project by Santanu Debnath – a solo exhibition at Emami Art (29 August – 18 October 2025). We offer the young cohort a rich opportunity to learn about the climate concerns surrounding waterbodies, study relevant children’s literature, and apply them with empathy in their own creative practice.
Workshop Structure:
- 10 mins: A brief walkthrough of the exhibition
- 50 mins: Music-infused dramatic reading
- 1 hour 15 mins: Art activity
- 45 mins: Final presentation of the resulting artwork
Note: Books and basic art supplies will be provided. Participants may carry dry mediums (colour pencils, crayons, pastels, sketch pens, etc) of their choice.
