From understanding motifs and choosing colours to positioning the blocks and applying pigment, the workshop offers an introduction to the process of block printing through practical demonstrations and guided making. Participants will create their own table runner and four table mats, which they can take home at the end of the workshop. The session is designed for anyone curious about traditional crafts and hands-on making, whether experienced with craft or trying block printing for the first time.

Sukhendu Sekhar Nath is a Kolkata-based block printing practitioner and workshop facilitator with a keen interest in sharing traditional textile craft techniques. Through interactive, hands-on sessions, he introduces participants to the processes and possibilities of block printing while encouraging an appreciation of India's rich textile traditions.
