The Kinusaiga introduces participants to the traditional Japanese art of creating beautiful textile pictures using fabric pieces without stitching. The event focuses on creativity, patience, and sustainable art by transforming leftover fabric into colourful decorative artworks. The project provides a hands-on and engaging experience while encouraging participants to explore traditional craft techniques in a contemporary way.

Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Kinusaiga: A Symphony of Scraps, a hands-on workshop introducing participants to the traditional Japanese art of creating textile pictures using fabric pieces, without stitching.
The workshop explores how leftover fabric can be transformed into colourful decorative artworks through careful placement, layering and attention to detail. Participants will be introduced to the basic techniques of Kinusaiga while creating their own artwork with guided support.
Combining traditional craft with an approach to reuse, the workshop encourages participants to look at discarded fabric differently and discover its creative possibilities. It offers an opportunity to slow down, work with their hands and explore a distinctive textile art form.
Priyam Dalmiya is a creative practitioner and workshop facilitator who works with craft based learning experiences. Her workshops encourage participants to explore creativity, mindfulness and self-expression through hands-on making.
