Event Details
Kolkata Centre for Creativity presents Ceramic Canvas, a hands-on workshop introducing participants to the craft of ceramic underglaze painting.
Participants will learn how to work with underglaze colours on bisque-fired ceramic surfaces, exploring basic techniques such as brushwork, colour application, layering and simple surface design. The session will introduce participants to creating patterns, illustrations and decorative motifs while allowing them to develop their own designs.
Each participant will work on one medium-sized bisque-fired wall plate and two mini plates, with guidance throughout the process. The finished pieces will subsequently be glaze-fired and made available to participants a few days after the workshop.
No prior experience is required. The workshop offers an accessible introduction to ceramic surface decoration, combining guided learning with the freedom to experiment.
Srijoni Roy is the creative practitioner behind Bake Clay, a ceramics studio known for its underglaze and hand-painted ceramic work. Through her workshops, she introduces participants to colour application, brushwork and surface-design techniques, encouraging creative exploration on ceramic surfaces.
