The Founder & Managing Trustee at The Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, a puppet theatre group based in Delhi, Anurupa has a diploma in puppet-theatre from The University of Stockholm, Sweden. Since the inception of The Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, she has directed over 25 puppet performances, some of which are - Almost Twelfth Night, About Ram, Across the Sea, Half a Kingdom, Flowering Tree, Anecdotes and Allegories, Bollywood Bandwagon and Mahabharata. Along with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, she is the recipient of a host of other prestigious awards recognising her contribution to the field of puppet-theatre. 

Anurupa is currently the General Secretary of UNIMA India, the Indian chapter of the Union Internationale de la Marionette where she has been organizing classes with master puppeteers to start a puppetry-centric programme for professional puppeteers.
